1st-7th Grade Theater Class
Instructor: Lauren Parker
Our 1st-7th Grade Theater Class is specifically designed to introduce younger students to the many facets of theater production, including: acting, costuming, dance, prop management, lighting, play-writing, sound, directing, set building, and stage management. At the end of the semester, the class will culminate with a short production by the students. This class is offered in both the Fall and Spring Semesters. Class Times: Thursday afternoons, 4 – 5:00 PM; Cost: $80.00 per month
Triple Threat Intensive Course
Instructors: Lauren Parker (acting), Laura Beatty (vocals), Blair Stepp (dance)
Purpose: The “triple threat” is what the theatre world calls someone who is talented in acting, singing and dancing. Being a triple threat makes someone very employable in the theatre world, known to snag better parts at auditions and scholarships for theatre programs. This class is meant to teach the basics of what it means to become a “triple threat” so that one can delve into more advanced class in the future.
Structure: The class is divided into three five-week sections. Each section focuses on one of the three aspects of being a “Triple Threat” with three different teachers, cumulating with an end of the year scene, song and dance routine.
Requirements: Jazz shoes or footwear that can accommodate dancing (no bare feet are allowed in the theatre)
Minimum Class Size: 5 students
Class Times: Thursdays, 5:30 – 6:30 PM; Cost: $100 a month
