GSOA Art Camps 2019 with Tim Stiles

GSOA Summer Camp Art classes will have several choices and lots of freedom for your child to follow
their own voice on what they want to do! We’ll teach them the techniques then let them follow their
intuition as they try it for themselves in the Studio! Your kids are sure to LOVE it!
Space is limited, so register early! Camp Fee is NON-REFUNDABLE as we are holding a spot for
you. However, it is transferable if you would like to find someone to take the spot.

 Instructor: Tim Stiles

Classes Offered:

Clay/Pottery

Campers will experiment with a variety of building techniques including pinch pots, slabs, coils, and the wheel. Campers will also learn the basics of sculpting to create interesting elements for their pieces. All levels are welcome. Clay pieces generally take one to two weeks to be fired. All materials are provided by GSOA. Grades rising 3rd—12th.

Bob Ross-Inspired Landscape Painting

Campers will learn the technical style of painting made famous by Bob Ross through hands-on instruction.  The camp offerings include a variety of landscape techniques that will build up to the creation of one-of-a-kind work of art.  Campers will start from a blank canvas and end with a completed painting that can be taken home. All materials are provided by GSOA. Grades rising 3rd—9th.

Painting, Drawing, and More

Campers will explore the world of aesthetics and what goes into art making. Through observation and special attention to detail, they will learn about shapes, space, drawing techniques, color mixing, paint handling, and more. The subject matter may include portraits, landscapes and still life, or anything that strikes the camper’s interest! Campers will create a 16”×20” canvas painting.  All materials are provided by GSOA. Grades rising 3rd—9th.
