Introduction to Drawing and Painting

This class is meant to teach adults students the beginning principles of drawing and painting subject matter that they actually see.  The student will learn techniques and design principles through the use of graphite, charcoal, and earth-toned crayons on paper and other surfaces, oil pastels, oil paint, acrylic paint, and water-soluble oils.  No previous drawing experience necessary.  Adults only.  Class Times:  During Fall and Spring Semesters, Tuesdays, 3:30 – 5:30 PM; Cost: $80.00 per month

Supply List:

  • Three-ring binder for notes and class handouts
  • Soft pencils – 2B, 4B, and 6B OR an inexpensive drawing pencil set
  • Erasers – plastic (Magic Rub) and kneaded
  • Paper – 9×12 OR larger inexpensive drawing paper pad
  • Painting supplies (Greta has more information)
  • Tool box for carrying supplies
